Job Description

The Senior Scientist will be joining an established team of scientists involved in commercial analysis and research of PFAS compounds.  Primary responsibilities would include assisting the team with document review, idea generation, and leading research and development projects.  Knowledge of relevant analytical techniques is a must and hands-on analytical work may be required as well as oversight of staff executing technical work.  Other project work may be required to meet client needs. P roject leadership, stewardship, and ownership will be expected. 

Interfacing with RJLG clients will (eventually) be a part of this role, so the ability to explain highly technical concepts to a non-expert audience with clarity is highly valued in this position. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in both the spoken and written word. Experience in proposal writing and a record of publications with primary authorship would be valued.

Exceptionally qualified candidates may qualify for a higher-level position in this subject matter area.

Key Qualifications

 

• PhD in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, or environmental chemistry
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical role.
• Expertise in a range of analytical techniques and knowledge of how and when to apply them. Examples include but are not limited to FTIR, DSC, GCMS, LCMS, SEM, etc.
• Knowledge and experience in the field of PFAS.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
