Registered Nurse – PACU Travel Position Location: Albany, NY Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Nights Pay: $2,266.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Albany, NY on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and smooth post-operative recovery process. The ideal candidate is skilled in post-anesthesia patient assessment, monitoring, and interventions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia period.
• Monitor vital signs, airway patency, and patient responses to anesthesia and analgesics.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management interventions as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Assess, document, and report patient progress and any complications in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain adherence to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and PACU best practices.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in New York (or compact eligibility).
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); PALS preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
