Your Role with the Company:

The Hot End Process / Furnace Tank Engineer will provide the necessary technical support to the Tank Department in order to attain optimum glass Quality, maximize speeds and yields and produce at the lowest possible costs and to develop the operational equipment to its maximum efficiency.

What you will be doing:

· Provides the daily technical support to maximize quality, speeds and yields

· Daily inspection of Tank processes and equipment to assure continued operational efficiency.

· Coordinates and directs production activities of the batch plant, tanks, baths and lehrs.

· Reviews and analyzes the various unit production and quality reports and takes corrective action as necessary.

· Makes recommendations to the Manager Float Process regarding new methods, new equipment and general improvement of glass quality and of the Department.

· Periodically makes a thorough inspection of the tank refractory to determine condition and coordinates the ordering of material supplies and equipment used in the unit.

· As needed, coordinates the efficient scheduling of manpower within the assigned area and administers a training and safety program.

· Creates an atmosphere of confidence, mutual trust and respect within the tank employees.

What you will need:

· BS degree in Engineering Required (Chemical, Ceramic, Glass Science, Materials Science, Industrial, Mechanical or equivalent).

·3+ years experience in manufacturing, production and/or Process Engineering in 24X7 manufacturing.

· General knowledge of float glass batch, melting and forming processes desired.

· Experience with the bath and lehr is a plus.

· Strong people skills. Ability to train the junior engineers.
