In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for assisting and facilitating pharmacy operations and other tasks as the Pharmacist deems necessary. Applicants must be able to maintain ethical and professional behavior that reflects a positive attitude representing the pharmacy department as well as the University.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

•Data entry, insurance billing
•Ensures efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of medications dispensed in the pharmacy
•Maintains and tracks medication inventory
•Able to operate computers to process, store, and retrieve health information
•Clerical duties such as customer service, using the cash register and ensuring the tidiness of the pharmacy
•Must be a team player
•Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment
•Must be detail-oriented
•Perform tasks as assigned by the pharmacist

Required Qualifications

1. Bilingual-Fluent in English and Spanish
2. Education: General education, High School Diploma, GED , or BA or BS degrees
3. Experience: 1 year of experience working in a retail or customer service setting.

4. Able to use computers and technology at a proficient level

5. Ability to actively listen to customers and healthcare professionals

6. Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual-Fluent in English and Spanish
