Job Overview

Hass Co, LLC is seeking a safety-conscious and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing field operations team in Houston, TX. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction equipment-including excavators (30-ton class or larger), dozers, skid steers, and track-type foundation drills-to support site development and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will not only possess strong operational skills, but also be willing to assist with non-equipment tasks to support overall crew efficiency and job site success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, skid steers, and foundation drills.
  • Perform daily inspections, fueling, greasing, and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete minor equipment repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with general construction duties outside of equipment operation.
  • Follow all site safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
  • Travel occasionally to regional project sites as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating track-type heavy machinery.
  • Valid TWIC Card.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a hair follicle drug test and background check.
  • Familiarity with safe pit and trench construction practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for out-of-town projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Experience operating auger boring or tunnel boring machines is highly valued.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is an asset.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of verifiable experience as a heavy equipment operator.
