Description

CEC Controls is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, including reading schematics and wiring panels. Mechanical knowledge is a plus, and the role requires the ability to follow directions and work independently in the field. This position involves travel up to 50% of the time.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Electrical and Wiring Tasks
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to guide installation and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Wire control panels according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
• Technical Skills
  • Use a voltmeter to measure electrical values, diagnose issues, and verify proper operation of circuits.
  • Follow detailed instructions to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to assist in the installation and maintenance of control systems and equipment
• Field Work and Travel:
  • Travel to various job sites, performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Communicate effectively with the project team and clients to ensure successful project completion
  • Adapt to varying work environments, ensuring that all tasks are completed to high standards

Minimum Skills & Abilities

• Ability to travel greater than 50%.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship.
• Able to climb a 2-story ladder
• Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
• Able to lift 30 lbs. while carrying a laptop

Minimum Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus
• Practical experience in reading schematics and wiring panels
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to use a voltmeter
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with tools and equipment
