Job Title: COBOL/DB2 Mainframe Developer

Location: Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications using DB2, CICS, and JCL in a z/OS environment.
• Analyze user requirements and business processes to develop and enhance mainframe systems.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to quality and security standards.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot application issues as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, testers, and project managers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing applications.
• Participate in system migrations, data conversions, and modernization efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in COBOL development on IBM Mainframe platforms.
• Proficient in DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and TSO/ISPF.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and change management procedures.
• Experience with debugging tools such as Abend-AID, File-AID, or XPEDITER.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, government, or healthcare domains.
• Experience in modernization strategies for legacy systems.
• Exposure to integration with distributed systems (e.g., APIs, MQSeries).
• Experience using version control tools (e.g., Endeavor, Changeman).
• Federal Experience is a plus.
